What happens when a group of ladies is going to the Kentucky Derby together? They schedule a private consultation party with Chapeaux!
During the party, each guest will work with a Chapeaux designer to try on various styles, discuss color options, and dream up a final vision for a fabulous Derby hat or fascinator. Then Chapeaux gets to work!
After completion, arrangements are made to deliver all the pieces. Guests enjoy a complimentary pickup option in Baton Rouge, or (for standard FedEx delivery fees), Chapeaux can ship each piece to the guest’s home or to their lodging in Louisville.

Chapeaux offers a selection of handcrafted Chapeaux to Geaux, custom fascinators for any occasion, couture millinery, and parties where we guide you through traditional and modern millinery techniques to create a Chapeaux of your own.

In 2023, Chapeaux became the sole millinery vendor at the Louisiana Derby! Chapeaux also became a sponsor of the hat contests for the Louisiana Derby and Ralph’s Market Derby-themed Wine Gala at Houmas House. In addition to again participating in Mad Hatters and City Club’s Spanish Town Block Party, Chapeaux is designing countless hats for the Kentucky Derby and other community events.

No crafting here — instead, grab your girlfriends and meet with Chapeaux designers for a Consultation Party!
A Chapeaux Consultation Party is like a private consultation — but with your besties! Bring your dresses and special inspiration accessories, then work one-on-one with a Chapeaux designer to review fine millinery materials and styles to dream up your perfect hat or fascinator.
$50 non-refundable deposit per guest to hold your date. Final Chapeaux pricing for each guest is based on individual design and materials; guests to be billed by invoice prior to initiation of work — Chapeaux headpieces will be ready for pickup 4 to 6 weeks after Consultation Party. Travel fee required outside Baton Rouge Metro Area.

CHAPEAUX FASCINATOR
Fancy and festive fascinators are our favorite! If you are a Royal watcher, you will love this style of Chapeaux. With this party, each guest can choose to make a more formal or a more festive fascinator.
This party includes TWO hours of fun with step-by-step guidance to make your own Chapeaux fascinator! As with all our party packages, all materials and equipment provided - feathers, flowers, ribbons, and everything else!
Starting at $50 per crafter for a curated party with three primary colors; $65 per crafter for an open design party. Minimum party price is $500 for two hours plus setup; each additional crafting hour is an additional $75, billed to the host. Non-refundable deposit equal to one crafter’s reservation fee to hold your date, plus total payment due 72 hours before your party.
Upon request, colors and embellishments can be specially curated to your theme; please notify us during your party consultation as a customization fee may apply. Travel fee required outside Baton Rouge Metro Area.

CHAPEAUX CHILD
Does your little one love tea parties? Chapeaux Child does, too! This Chapeaux style is a smaller, age-appropriate version of our adult Chapeaux Fascinator, featuring the same quality and unique style. Perfect as a birthday party activity and party favor!
This party includes step-by-step guidance for each child to craft their own Chapeaux! The in-person time of the Chapeaux team depends on the ages of the children; an estimate will be provided during your party consultation. A curated selection of materials and all equipment provided; for younger crafters, Chapeaux will provide each child a “fascinator kit” to facilitate crafting while encouraging individual design style.

Chapeaux is the proud partner of the Baton Rouge Symphony League’s Mad Hatters, where two of our couture hats were featured in the fashion show!
In 2023, Chapeaux will be the sole millinery vendor of the Louisiana Derby and the primary sponsor of the hat competition!
Chapeaux is a friend of the Baton Rouge City Club and enjoys attending events where we meet City Club guests, offer millinery advice, and provide custom Chapeaux.
The entire Chapeaux team enjoys volunteering for events like St. Jude Day at the Derby and Flower Fest.
Chapeaux offers both private parties and open enrollment workshops, in addition to trunk shows and pop up shops in local businesses.
Chapeaux has provided “Party Favor” Fascinators for several local events, including luncheons and tables for galas and soirées.

Excellent question! Chapeaux “party favors” are a set of custom-created fascinators for your event where we create the fascinators and you just enjoy the celebration.
Maybe you are having a bachelorette party and want a custom accessory to show you are all part of the same group … or you are hosting a holiday luncheon with your girlfriends and want to treat them to a custom headpiece for the event … or you have reserved a table at a gala and your group wishes to have a custom color scheme of something other than Mardi Gras beads … or so many other group events!
We offer fascinators and boutonnières so that all members of your party can celebrate in style!

Depending on the type of Chapeaux you order or create, you could wear it to a parade, a wedding, a ball or soirée or gala, a night out with the girls, a variety of sporting events, church, Sunday brunch, a garden party, a bachelorette party … gosh, the list is seemingly endless!

Excellent question! We recommend storing your Chapeaux in a hard-sided container, like a hat box, a card board box, or a dresser drawer, using archival-quality tissue. Please be mindful of the delicate parts of your Chapeaux, such as feathers and bows, when placing your Chapeaux in your container. To protect the extended parts of your Chapeaux, like feathers, consider making a little “pillow” of tissue paper for extra support.

Unfortunately, no - deposits and enrollment fees are non-refundable. We use the deposits to acquire the special items, often from England or New York, for crafting at your event, and we are unable to return them. However, we are happy to reschedule to another date, when possible.

Yes! We make custom boutonnières upon order; we call this special item a “Chapeaux Mini.” These are perfect for on their own or as part of a matching set with other boutonnières or with a fascinator for your partner.
